Spectrabilities
Active Attitude is excited to announce that we are the first provider in New Zealand to hold a license to run Sprectrabilities programs.
Spectrabilities programs cater for neurodiverse children, teens and adults, through the use of gymnastics to target social-emotional development; nurture social skills; improve communication and confidence through movement and play.
Neurodiversity is a societal concept which acknowledges that all individuals have differences in cognition, brain development and abilities.
- Autism
- ADHD
- Sensory Processing Disorder
- Oppositional Defiant Disorders
- Down Syndrome
- Intellectual Disabilities
- Genetic Disorders
- Developmental Delays
The Spectrabilities program provides complementary benefits within other therapy models and we are happy to work alongside each family's therapy teams upon request.
Our aim is to offer a premium-level service which provides an inclusive, safe and encouraging experience for all abilities and assist our learners with achieving their own personal goals. We believe in the significant role of movement and play for learning new skills and developing social communication.
If you would like to book a place for your child or someone in your care into one of our Spectrabilities programs, please e-mail admin@activeattitude.co.nz if you would like us to send you further information or alternativity, please feel free to request a visit to Active Attitude where you can meet one of our team and your child can familiarize themselves with our gymnasium.
We have private lessons and small group lessons (maximum of 4 participants) available.
If you are one of our Spectrabilities members, you are also welcome to join us for our Spectrabilities Sunday Open Gyms - family members are welcome to attend too. These run from 2:15-3:15pm on Sundays (these sessions are starting back on Sunday 4th May). *Please note, there may be some Sundays where these sessions don't run due to public holidays, or special events etc. These dates will be on our gymnasium notice board.
Join us and explore a sensory-rich gymnastics based movement experience, with nurturing instructors who celebrate all abilities.
Our coaches teach sport because they want to make a difference in the lives of young people. All of our coaches have their First Aid certificates, are Police Checked, and will ensure the tuition we are providing your child is fun, safe and developmentally appropriate.
